Chinstrap: The leather chin strap is a nice replacement with steel hardware and is marked Wilhelm Ellers Jr

M40 #29 This helmet has its originalM40 #29 Shell: The shell is an original WW2 Model 1940 example. As is often the case with relic helmets, the factory stamps appear when the helmet is stripped back to bare metal. The very faint factory stamp of SE62 could just be seen. SE denotes the maker as being Sachsische Emaillerwerk, Lauter, Germany and 62 as the shell size, 62cm. The lot number also faintly appeared and looked to be 4477. Though this shell was quite rust affected, it is solid
