Tone Poem sees saxophonist Charles Lloydbacked by a quartet of guitarist Bill Frisell, Greg Leisz on pedal steel, bassist Reuben Rogers and drummer Eric Harland. They work their way through nine blues and country flecked jazz instrumentals. Its a mix of original compositions and versions of tunes by Ornette Coleman, Thelonious Monk, Leonard Cohen, Gabor Szabo, and Bola de Nieve.
