For nearly a year, Arnold followed the activist, from Washington to New York to Chicago. This contact sheet features intimate portraits of Malcolm X visiting enterprises owned by Black Muslims. Eve Arnold first became associated with Magnum Photos in 1951, and became a full member in 1957.
